Method
taken
from Jesse
M's tutorial
on Xbox-Scene,
full props
dude.
OK. I
tried
the HDD_Driver
thing
to transfer
data and
use the
no-modchip
font exploit.
Couldn't
get all
the dll's
to run
it. So
I tried
another
method,
but this
needs
another
Xbox with
either
a modchip
installed
or Exploit
running.
Remove
the lids
of 2 systems
and place
them back
to back.
Power
them both
and let
them boot
to MSdash
and whatever
the other
Modded\Exploited
system
is running.
I made
a disc
with boxplorer
as the
boot program
and containing
"Ernie
and Bert
reloaded"
and the
Signed
Phoenix
Loader
V1.3 in
a subdirectory.
Boot this
disc on
the modded
system.
With
boxplorer
booted,
choose
select
drive
and go
to the
d: (Dvd)
with all
your stuff.
Now, Pull
the IDE
cable
from the
modded
systems
HDD and
Plug it
into the
unmodded
(Powered
and booted)
systems
HDD. (You
will need
to unplug
the IDE
from here
too, Duh!)
LEAVE
THE POWER
ON BOTH
SYSTEMS
TURNED
ON!!!
The unmodded
system
is using
its power
supply
to power
the HDD
the modded
system
is using.
So now
you have
a modded
system
connected
to an
unmodded
HDD, it
is unlocked
and ready
to transfer
data.
Select
Drive
again
on the
modded
system
in boxplorer
and go
to C:
You will
now be
viewing
the Virgin,
unlocked
HDD.
First,
copy over
the Ernie
and Bert
files
to the
Fonts
Directory
on the
C: rename
the two
files
already
there
from XTF
to XFT.
There
should
be 4 files
there
now. Ernie
and Bert
XTF and
two others
XFT
Also,
transfer
the Phoenix
Bios Loader
to the
C: root.
there
are several
files
to copy
over,
xboxrom.bin,
phoenix.raw,
evoxdash.xbe,
evox.ini,
default.xbe
and boot.cfg
I dont
know if
all these
are necessary,
but it
worked
so.....whatever!
The beauty
of this
connection
method
of the
2 systems
is that
you can
now power
down the
modded
system
and reboot
it. As
long as
the HDD
is still
powered
by the
Unmodded
(Hee Hee)
system,
the Modded
xbox will
boot.
Remember
to remove
the disc
too.
If it
doesn't
work (It
should)
reconnect
the systems
to their
respective
HDDs and
restart
the procedure.
It worked
first
go for
me.
If it
worked,
congrats.
I hope
this helps
people
who may
have a
friend
with a
modded
system
and are
a little
to scared
at trying
this without
a safety
net. I
doesn't
realy
matter
if you
back up
the system
or not
as you
are not
modifying
any crucial
files,
except
the Fonts.
You can
still
bring
a damaged
system
to boot
and Hotswap
to transfer
again!
Good
luck.
